HISTORY OF THE RITZ HOTEL AT GARDEN OASES
Like any other business, the original Garden Oases started out small.
It was in 1995 when a group of friends got their heads together and decided to put up a mini-putting area for golf enthusiasts. The idea was to set up a mini-golf course with a place for visitors to enjoy some food and drinks.
That group was composed of Mr. Jefferson Tan or Jick as he’s more known to close friends, and his barkada who, at the time, were fresh college graduates eager to start an investment venture.
And so Garden Oases was born initially featuring a garden with a mini-golf course and restaurant. While the golf course did not attract that much visitors, it served another valuable purpose which was hosting garden weddings.
Sometimes later, the pool was built through the help of Mr. Tan’s brother. The addition of the pool made Garden Oases one of the first inland resort in Davao City that gained popularity through the years.
The convention center was added much later and became the city’s second of such structure after Davao Trade and Convention Center.
Garden Oases was also among the first local business to register for the lowest in Davao Project launched by the Davao City Government in 1993.
By 2005, The Ritz Hotel was put in the premises of the Garden Oases Resort. It now was has 88 rooms of varied sizes, each equipped with modern facilities.
It is here where many couples have sealed their love, where many babies have been warmly welcomed to the world, where many kids, teens adults and senior citizens have celebrated their birthdays and milestone and where great memories continue to be created.
